Over fifty years later, the family-owned plumbing shop he founded has developed into a world-class, mechanical construction firm with 700 employees and a sterling reputation for quality and innovation. Meet our Leadership Team
As President, John is responsible for establishing the long-term vision for the company. With over thirty years in the construction industry, John is part of the company's second generation of family leadership, and takes an active role in developing a culture of community outreach and collaboration. Cannistraro was recently named a top contractor in the Boston Business Journal Book of Lists and a Top Place to Work according to the Boston Globe.
John is a past president of the Massachusetts Building Congress and the Greater Boston Plumbing Contractors Association, and is a past recipient of the Labor Guild's prestigious Cushing-Gavin Award. He is a Board Member for both the Artists for Humanity and the Boston App Lab, and serves on the Council of Advisors for Historic Boston, Inc. John is also a Corporator for Wentworth Institute of Technology and a Corporation Member for Partners Healthcare. John has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, holds a Master Plumber’s License in Massachusetts, and is a graduate of the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School.
As CEO, David oversees many of the executive and operational functions of the organization, including construction/service operations, legal, contract administration, facilities and human resources. As a Principal, he is also involved in the firm’s strategic and real estate planning. David is a leader and advocate for the specialty contracting industry, serving in executive roles for organizations such as the National Subcontractors Alliance, New England Mechanical Contractors Association and the Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts. He is also a Trustee for the Pipefitters Local 537 pension and health & welfare funds.
Over his nearly thirty-year career, David has served in many roles across the family-led organization including project management, safety and operations. Since joining Cannistraro in 1990, he has participated in the company’s growth and expansion resulting in over 700 employees, multiple facilities across Greater Boston, comprehensive Plumbing, Fire Protection, HVAC piping and sheet metal services, and turnkey service and maintenance for commercial, healthcare and institutional facilities. David is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania
As CFO, Joe oversees all accounting and financial operations. Under his leadership, Cannistraro maintains a sterling credit rating and reputation, and continues to value the company’s founding principles of corporate responsibility, sound financial practices, and philanthropy.
Joe is the current Vice President and Trustee of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors (PHCC) of Greater Boston and a Trustee of the Plumbers Local 12 Health and Welfare Pension Fund. He is also an avid runner and perennial participant in the Boston Marathon. Joe is a graduate of Yale University.
As Vice President - Business Development, Neil oversees the pre-construction process for all HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection projects. Neil works closely with the Estimating and Operations teams to plan each project and leads the company's client service and customer engagement initiatives.
Neil is passionate about incorporating lean construction and manufacturing methods into all aspects of the company, and encourages everyone at Cannistraro to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. He is also an avid sports fan and enjoys watching his sons play hockey. Neil is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology.
As Vice President - HVAC, Paul is responsible for the planning, management and execution of the company’s HVAC operations. He oversees all HVAC processes and personnel, maximizing collaboration among his entire team including project management, BIM/coordination, prefabrication and field leadership. With an emphasis on safety and quality, Paul ensures that each project meets both company and client goals, standards and expectations.
Paul has over 10 years of experience in the HVAC and construction industries. Throughout his career he has worked in construction technology and project management, specializing in complex mechanical installations and prefabrication. Paul is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, the MCAA Advanced Leadership Institute, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
As Vice President - Plumbing & Fire Protection, Dean is responsible for the planning, management and execution of the company's Plumbing and Fire Protection operations. He oversees all Plumbing and Fire Protection processes and personnel, maximizing collaboration among his entire team including project management, BIM/coordination, fabrication and field leadership. With an emphasis on safety and quality, Dean ensures that each project meets both company and client goals, standards and expectations.
Dean has more than 25 years of experience in Fire Protection and construction. He began his career as a sprinklerfitter in the field and advanced on to become a successful Field Foreman and Project Manager. Dean is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and has completed the OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training Program.
As Vice President - Service, Bill oversees all service and maintenance operations. Bill manages a team of Service Sales Engineers, a full Service Sales Support Team, a Service Operations Team and a large group of field technicians with a fleet of more than thirty service vehicles for all major disciplines including HVAC, Fire Protection and Plumbing service.
Bill has more than 25 years of experience in the mechanical trades and throughout his career has served as an HVAC Service Technician, a Sales Engineer and as Service Manager. He played an instrumental role in helping Cannistraro become an official Energy Solution Provider powered by MSCA GreenSTAR, is the Vice President of the New England Mechanical Service Contractors Association (NEMSCA), and is an accomplished triathlete. Bill holds an Associate's Degree in Construction Management & Supervision, attended Wentworth Institute of Technology, is a graduate of the Pipefitter's Local 537 Training Program and has completed OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training.
As Vice President – Information Technology, Drake is responsible for the planning, management and execution of the company’s information technology initiatives. He oversees the IT infrastructure, applications and support groups aligning those areas with the needs of the business units, and overall goals of the company.
Drake has over 30 years of experience in the IT field and holds several industry related certifications. He is passionate about continuous improvement and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Drake is a graduate of Fitchburg State University.
